    Survey on Vocal Flexibility in Elephants
     
    Elephants are quite talented in inventing or imitating sounds. We are interested in unusual elephant sounds that differ from the normal call repertoire. These sounds might be produced with the tongue, the lips or the trunk. Usually these sounds do not have a specific communicative function, but are of great interest for us, because they reveal the extent of vocal flexibility.

    If one of your elephants is producing any kind of unusual sound, we would be grateful for a short video or audio clip. If you want to participate, please complete the form below.
