Angela Stoeger

Angela Stoeger received her master in Zoology in 2002, her PhD in 2006 at the University of Vienna. She habilitated in behavioural and cognitive Biology in 2018.

Angela uses communication as a tool to study cognition, designing formal and natural experiments to test specific hypothesis.
She is responsible for planning, conducting and budgeting research projects, leading international and interdisciplinary research teams and supervising students. She published in high-impact scientific journals and received and managed 1.600.000 € of third party funding as PI. For her research, Angela Stoeger received several awards e.g. the Focus of Excellence from the University of Vienna, the Research Award from the City of Vienna in 2015 and received the L’Oreal Scholarship (ÖAW). She was nominated and shortlisted (Top 3) as Austrian Scientist of the Year 2021. Her popular scientific book "Von SIngenden Mäusen und quietschenden Elefanten" is nominated as Scientific book of the year 2021. She established and leads the Mammal Communication Lab. |
